We welcome applicants of any age and background. No previous experience is necessary for any of these positions. All Streetside Conversations positions are part-time, unpaid, and require an initial six-month commitment. Recruiter
Want to bring new stories to the conversation? Do you know of people who could write for us? Join Streetside Conversation’s Outreach Team to identify, contact, and follow up with potential authors for upcoming themes. We ask friends, families, and complete strangers to share with Streetside Conversations about the exciting justice work they are doing in big and little ways daily.

Responsibilities: Act as a recruiter for SC and contact a minimum of 10 potential authors per publishing cycle, which occur every three months.

Works with the Outreach Coordinator during the recruiting process.

Recruiting material such as email templates will be provided.

Commitment to good communication required.
Photographer
A picture is worth a thousand words. Play a part in the conversation by finding or creating the ideal photos to accompany our writers’ stories.

Responsibilities: Draw on your own collection of photographs or stage new photos as required to accompany stories or other SC materials.

Work closely with the Publishing Coordinator.

Ensure that submitted photos comply with Streetside Conversation’s ethical guidelines.

Communicate author’s themes creatively using images.
Journalist
Some potential authors are so busy doing justice work that they need a different way to share their stories with Streetside Conversations. Journalists conduct short interviews via email, phone, or Skype to record authors’ stories in a time-efficient manner.

Responsibilities: Prepare and conduct 10 minute open-ended interviews with potential authors, transcribe interviews for the author’s review, and submit the transcript to the editing team. Maximum of 1 interview per publishing theme, for a total of 3 interviews every 3 months.
